All the information that is available today can become very overwhelming. Especially when it comes to distributing your content online. There’s a lot of different avenues to use to get your message out. There is your own website to post on and then there is social media: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube to name a few. Sometimes you don’t know which way to go. It can be overwhelming and confusing.
When I find myself in this situation, I know it’s time for some soul searching. So, I step back, take a breath and rethink my goals.
What I have found that works for me is to get up early in the morning around 5 o’clock. The house is quiet and everyone is still asleep. I can make a cup of coffee and sit in my favorite room with all the lights off except for maybe a lamp. I want just enough light so in case I decide to write something down I can see what I’m doing. I usually have a pad and pen with me because I never know when I want to jot down an idea.
The first thing I do is to have appreciation and gratitude for everything I have and have accomplished. I think about where I’ve been and where I want to go with my life and my business. Then I evaluate my goals and plans. In this case I think about what I have tried as far as a marketing plan. What am I consistently doing? When did I throw in a new method because I heard about it and what is really causing me a lot of confusion? I want to know where have I gotten off my path.
When I take this time to myself, I can get in tune with what is going on with me and what I want for my business.
I use this time to decide exactly what I’m going to do. How am I going to make my website work for me? How am I going to distribute my content? What social media will I use? And I write down what the plan will be and stick with it for the next few months. Or at least until I have another crisis and feel myself going in a different direction than planned!
When you don’t have all the noise in your head, you can take the time to listen to yourself and get back on your path. An even better idea is to review your process and progress monthly to make sure you stay on course.
There’s a lot of different ways to distribute content online.
Use the best distribution marketing method to reach your potential or current clients.
That’s what really matters. Pick the plan that you want to do and go with that plan. They’ll be new platforms popping up all the time. LinkedIn is known for business relationships and Facebook is known for more consumer relationships. I use Twitter to connect with people to share ideas and information.
Once you have gone through this process of getting back into your own head and what you really want to do for your business, you will be able to move it in that direction. Make the best marketing plan for your business goals. Use the best content distribution method that will reach your potential clients.
